THE STORY OF VALTER BALDACCINI

The book "Valter Baldaccini. Un grande uomo, un grande amico (1945-2014)" (Valter Baldaccini. A great man, a great friend), written by Ottaviano Turrioni and edited by Morlacchi, tells the story of Valter from the perspective of a close friend who had an authentic and enduring relationship with him.

The two met as children as they played in the alleys of Cannara and their friendship lasted until the last day. Together they shared travel, music, singing, a passion for politics, faith. In the book Professor Turrioni also collected photos and some testimonials from colleagues, employees and friends. Each of them enriched the story of Valter's uncommon qualities.

The Thesorieri Theater in Cannara was the setting for the first public presentation of the book, on September 9, 2019, the town where Valter was born and lived.

After his hometown two other significant placeshosted the book’s presentation dedicated to Valter Baldaccini:

  • On December 17, 2019 Albanella, the town in the province of Salerno that bestowed honorary citizenship on him. The event was organized by the Municipality of Albanella.

  • On December 20, 2019 Foligno, the Umbrian town where UMBRAGROUP and the Valter Baldaccini Foundation are based. The Jacobilli Library and the FulgineaMente association organized the initiative.
